Bye bye Nottingham!

Hoy es mi último día en Nottingham y hasta dentro de 4 meses no volveré. Ayer nos fuimos de cena para despedirnos de algunos de nuestros amigos de aquí. Bueno, en realidad no son de aquí sino de muchos sitios distintos del mundo, pero todos trabajamos en la misma Universidad excepto Sergio. Fuimos a un restaurante Kurdo que nos encanta, porque la comida es muy buena y muy barata. Aquí se puede ver una foto de la deliciosa comida que nos sirvieron.

Today is my last day in Nottingham, and 4 months will pass before I come back. Yesterday, we went for dinner to say bye to some of our friends from here. Actually, they are not from here, but from all over the world, but we all work in the same University, except for Sergio. We went to a Kurdistan restaurant that we love, because the food is very good and very cheap. Here is a picture showing the exquisite food they gave us.

From right to left we have: Katherina and Stamatis (Greece), Germán (Argentina) and Amalia (Romania), Damo and Yongnan (China), Sergio and Sylvia (Spain). Ulas (from Turkey) was taking the picture.

Lo pasamos muy bien y nos reímos muchísimo. Muchas gracias a todos por venir, nos hizo mucha ilusión veros a todos.

Y bueno, empieza una nueva etapa para mí, aunque esta será cortita. Echaré muchísimo de menos a mi Sergio, mis clases de Yoga, y a mi grupo de patchwork entre otras cosas. Pero se supone que esta es una oportunidad profesional muy buena para mí, así que me voy con ilusión y energía para disfrutar y aprender al máximo en estos 4 meses. Haré una parte de mi doctorado en la Universidad de Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) continuando con lo que empecé aquí hace poco más de dos años. Uno de mis supervisores es de allí y por lo tanto será mucho más fácil trabajar en el mismo lugar. Y de verdad espero volver con la tesis casi acabada!

A new stage of my life starts, even if a bit short. I will miss my Sergio very very much, my Yoga classes, and mi patchwork group among other things. But this is supposed to be a very good professional opportunity, so, I go with happiness and energy to enjoy and learn as much as I can in 4 months. I will do a part of my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), continuing with what I started here no more than 2 years ago. One of my supervisors is from there, therefore it will be easier to work in the same place. And I really hope to come back with my PhD almost finished! 

Y con esto... bye bye Nottingham!! Hasta dentro de 4 meses! Me voy a hacer las maletas!
