En Nottingham, la Navidad empieza alrededor de Octubre, cuando empiezan a decorar las calles con precioso adornos y preparan la iluminación que le va a dar el toque festivo a la ciudad. Más adelante, se iluminan las calles, y todo toma un color distinto que te permite redescubrir la ciudad. Esta foto es de un edificio llamado la Corner House (La casa de la esquina). En su interior se encuentra uno de los cines de Nottingham y muchos restaurantes. Se ve que por Navidad lo han vestido de gala, con una mezcla de colores y esa capa de lucecitas que lo recubre todo. ¿No es hermoso?

In Nottingham, Christmas starts around October, when they hang the street decorations with beautiful ornaments. They also prepare the lighting of the streets, that will give a party look to the whole city. Later on, they switch the lights on, and everything takes a different color, allowing to rediscover the city. This picture is from a building called The Corner House. Inside it is one of the cinemas of Nottingham and many restaurants. It seems that Christmas has dressed this building elegantly, with all the colors and this shower of small lights covering it all. Beautiful, isn't it?

¿Por qué será que en Navidad estos mastodontes tan feos que son los centros comerciales se vuelven tan bonitos?

Pues tienes razon, no se me habria ocurrido fotografiarlo sin las luces, porque simplemente es otro edificio. Por eso pienso que en Navidad la ciudad se tiene que redescubrir, muchas cosas que pasaban desapercibidas se convierten en llamativas.
Si, como tu dices, tienen alma de patito feo y en Navidad se convierten en cisnes.
